It's probably here somewhere but I can't find it. Now that most of the boys are well over 3 ft I am having issues with those long feathers getting groomed. The question that I have is what is the best product to use to keep them from getting brittle and still not collect debris ? TY J.J.

Just dab a couple drops of mineral oil onto a cloth or paper towel. Fold it over so that the feather is between two thicknesses to coat both sides, then run it down the length of the fathers one by one with the grain of the barbs so that you don't fray them.
If you get too much on, use a dry cloth to wipe some back off with. You don't want them saturated, just coated. It will soak in on its own.
The best time to do that is when they go up to roost at night. That way the oil has all night to soak into the feathers so that stuff won't stick to them when they get down in the morning.
Bye for now,
David
