We are working on getting the color Shojo back, they were once here in western Europe but dissapeared. We are getting there, though the males have quite some light colored sickles and the hens have some columbia on them.

Here are some girls for a change

Hen from last year, i mated her with an akasasa rooster (with a chalicecomb, what i prefer)

Here's a daughter, with the correct comb.

Another daughter, triple comb.

A wheaten pullet with serious saddles allready.

Another wheaten with great saddles for her age.

Last but not least...Pure Japanese akasasa girl, from a line that have very heavy faces (almost yamato like) but with very heavy saddles. Got her and her sister end this summer, so i really hope they make it through the winter to bring a lot of offspring. They're nearly moulted here.

All of them look amazing, but that wheaten pullet with the saddles at that age is spectacular!

Thanks TMA. we still need work on perfecting this color and it is not at all easy. The males so far come out with a nice buff colored body but with lots of white in their tails. I'm also trying the way where akasasa males turn more and more orange and each new F. has more and more buff feathers growing on their black breast..think it's the purest way getting there, but sure is a looooong way.
