The pattern of the flower petals really compliments the pattern of his breast feathers. It balances the composition nicely, having all that flower detail to offset the bird.

Hi faile and your spot on my friend quit a few people have view'd the flower's as being to much but these are real big paintings and the detail is so strong on the birds I felt I have to balance it with the back grounds, its funny when people have seen these in the flesh the think them vert different as the colours come through so much more!!!!! Trev

well you did wonderfully, this one is very nice balanced with the background. Bird and flowers actually strengthen eachother here.

Hey Wanda thanks my dear I think Im getting there now but how I wonder!I turned round the other day and Jake had been busy drawing on it but I have to say he did a good job!!!ha ha but I hope he dosent do it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
