Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I live in Canada and I have an animal sanctuary consisting of mostly rescued, abandoned and abused farm animals. But I also love chickens. They are like a hobby for me. I am particularly interested in longtail chickens. the phoenix, the ohiki and of course the onagadori, however I have not been able to find any in Canada. I was hoping someone on this forum would be able to sell either some eggs, chicks or know of someone who could. Thank you very much. Lou

Welcome to the forum! It's great to have another enthusiast in our group. We have another Canadian member here, but right off hand, I don't recall their username. They haven't posted in a while. I'm not aware of anyone in the US who ships to Canada, but maybe someone with Phoenix already there will turn up. Thanks for joining! David

David, the username you're looking for is jurrasicbird. I think he's in the Ontario area? Anyway, lou, you might be able to get some live birds if you just come across the border and pick them up. I know there have been border crossing instructions before when either the ABA or APA has had a meet or a National across the border, and I have sold a bird to Troy Laroche before, he should know what needs to be done to get them into Canada.

Hi Welcome from Austria at the forum! It should be easy for Canadians to import chicken s from Europe, specialy from Great Britain! From The European Coninent to GB it is absolute no problem, and then from GB to Canada, that should work. Tom

It might be just pullorum testing. I asked Troy when he bought my cock at a show, since I didn't know I was going to sell him, and he said not to worry about it. I think they vet check them at the border.
