hello everybody

I am Berta from the Netherlands.I was keeper and breeder from Yokohama bantam for over 30 years. Last year al my Yokohama's where killed in one night by a marter.
I also have chabo's and serama's, bud i was missing my longtails.
I couldn't find good yokohama's and I loved the Ohiki's also.
After I had asked around I got an e-mail that Gerhard in Germany wanted to sell his Ohiki's,
His friend was selling them for him. He had some Onagadori's too wich he had sold to someone in England. He asked me if i could take the Onagadori's for a few days and then take them to the Noordshow in Zuidlaren.I agreed and within 5 days I was the proud owner of 4 beautifull Ohiki's, and took care of 3 Onagadoris. They where al very tired en very hungry and thursty, because the transport had taken over 48 ours.I got them on jan.6th The Onagadoris are now in England, My Ohiki's Are still sneezing and at first they didn't want to eat.I did send Toni Mari an E-mail over the feeding habbits of the Ohiki's and now they eat much better.
I love to hear more about the feeding habbits etc. To learn about this beautifull bird to get and keep them in good condition.
 greetings from the Netherland Berta

Welcome to the forum, Berta! :) I'm sorry to hear about your marten issue. I hope you can keep them away.

Congratulations on the new birds! Some vitamins and electrolytes in the drinking water can help with transport stress. Ohiki aren't too difficult to feed. Some eat corn (maize) alright and some don't. Otherwise, they just like grains, vegetables, fruits, and insects like most any other chicken. Feel free to post pics any time if you'd like. :)

Hi Berta
Welcome from Austria!
I had three weeks ago also a Marten problem, he killed 2 Ohiki hens and a Ohiki Rooster!
But I will get some new from Gerhard Stehle as you also over Yossy and Tamas Molnar.
