Welcome to the forum. Your English is just fine. It's not easy to learn a second language. I've been trying to learn Japanese for a long time and I'm not even understandable yet. LOL

Your country looks to be located in a good place for getting some Onagadori. I believe there are breeders in Austria and Hungary. Marc King is in Italy. He doesn't breed them himself, but he may know of someone. It seems like people in three out of the four countries you border may be able help you out there. Which border are you closest to?

You have some very nice birds there! :)

Welcom to the forum!!

It seems like so many of you folks over in Europe know more than one language. Our new friend here knows at least two languages. Wanda knows Dutch (of course ;) ), German too I believe, and English. Tom, you know your native dialect of German, English, and now Slovene. If I may ask, how many languages do you know and how many languages does the average person throughout Europe know? It's very impressive!

Boss, I forgot to mention that you can join the gallery too if you'd like. You can use the same log in name, but you have to register and log in separately from the forum. Any photos you post there are automatically eligible for the photo of the month contest.

Dober dan, Dobrodošli!! (and that's about the slovenian i know hahaha) anyway good to have some eastern neighbours here too ;-) some very nice birds allready Boss. Indeed Poland and Germany are the places to be to find Onagadori..and Hungary.

David in the Netherlands we learn German, French and English in school, it allready starts in grammarschool here. Most people that travel around in Europe just for holidays know at least a few words in the language..mostly know how to say hello, and thank you and how to order beer, cokes or icecream hahaha.

Hi Wanda
I do speak a little Serbo-Croatian- a language what is not existing any longer. This language is a heritage from Tito - an "art creation" for the different Nations in former Yugoslavia.
To David
Here in Austria kids are starting to learn English in first grade at the age of six years. Then at the fifth grade at the age of ten they can choose between French, Italian, Russian or Spanish as second foreign Language.
I was growing up with two native languages, because my father is swedish - I am citicen of Austria and Sweden.
So I talk German, Swedish, Norwegian, French, English and a little bit Serbo-croatian.
So I say in Swedish: Hälsnigar fran Österrike till hela världen, Tom :longtail:

That's good to know another country's language when visiting. Even a few simple phrases is better than nothing at all.

That's the one thing I find somewhat irritating about most of the Mexicans who come to the US. Most, not all, but the biggest share of them, come here expecting people in the US to know their language and adapt to them, instead of the other way around. They could at least come with a translator or a bilingual friend. It's getting to where many of the signs in stores here are in Spanish as well. I think that kind of discourages them from even trying to learn English. Why should they try if everything is already in Spanish too?

People in Europe sound more courteous than the majority of our neighbors to the south when visiting other countries.

Six languages is absolutely amazing, Tom! I don't know how you keep them all straight. I'd be mixing words from all languages together if it were me. LOL

My fourth great grandfather on my mother's side was from Melsungen, Hessen, but the language wasn't passed down. So even though German is part of my heritage, I don't know very much of it.

I'm afraid that I probably can't help you with incubators in Autria or Hungary, but Tom may be able to.

As far as ones online though, this is the one I use "Electronic Thermostat Hova-bator Incubator #ETPW".
http://www.strombergschickens.com/produ ... bators.php

Mine is a few years old now and they have gone up in price considerably since that time. I think I only paid $120.00 for mine. I see that it's now up to $146.95. I'm sure there are cheaper places to get one though.

I really like it. I get 85% to 100% hatches in it and I don't have to constantly adjust the thermostat since it's pre-set to heat at the correct temperature. The instructions that came with mine said that the thermostat is more accurate than the thermometer they included with the incubator and not to worry if the thermometer says it's a few degrees too hot or cold. I've had all good hatches with it so far. So it's thermostat must be quite accurate; indeed more so than the thermometer.

The only thing you may need to do if you get that one, is get some kind of electrical adaptor for it if the plug shapes or power voltage is any different there. There may be better ones available there, but that is the one I personally like and use.
